According to the law, some products require mandatory certification. This means that certain goods cannot be sold in the territory of the Customs Union member countries without specific documentation. The list of such goods is available in the technical regulations of the Customs Union.
The essence of the Customs Union is an interstate agreement to create a single customs-free trade zone. This facilitates trade and reduces costs for manufacturers. Currently, the Customs Union consists of 5 countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. To obtain permission to produce and sell products in their territories, it is necessary to pass the required inspections and issue a Certificate of Conformity. Failure to obtain mandatory permits may result in administrative liability for the seller.
Important: In 2014, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was formed from the Customs Union, which, in addition to Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, also includes Armenia.
